Groupon bad spa/massage deals?

Recently there has been waves of reports from all over the internet on how Groupon have been bad for business. Well, so how does it affect us the consumers? Especially for those of us that have been searching Groupon for a spa/massage deal? I don't care less about the tug of war between the middle man (Groupon) and the businesses but I do care much about the quality of the product that I'm paying for. Will the spas and massage parlour honor the customer's purchase on Groupon or will they be tempted to cut down on quality because of  the pinch on their profit by the Groupon deals?

I have been relying a lot on Groupon to look for great massage deals since I discover them a few months ago. $23 for 60 minutes massage or $28 dollar for 60 minutes massage, these sort of promotions feels too good to be true and it is a good way for me to review other spas (hopefully find more gems) without spending too much money.

Jaens Spa Bali Ubud (Review)

Bali, the promised land of spa. It is famous for its beautiful beaches and probably as well known in the world for its world class spas at incredibly affordable prices. The impeccable caring attitude of the Baliness people and their warm smiles make a perfect recipe for the perfect massage or spa experience. I had the privilege of being there during my honeymoon 2 years ago and tried a lot of spas then but unfortunately I was not able to remember the experiences well enough to write about them. However, I had the good fortune of having a short get-away trip last week to Bali and was able to try out Jaens Spa in Ubud, Bali. It is a highly ranked spa in tripadvisor Bali and in fact, it is the 3rd recommanded thing to do in Ubud!

Hua Qing Chi Boutique Spa (Singapore)

Today Very Good Massage reviews Hua Qing Chi Boutique Spa (Singapore) Swedish massage. I brought a deal off $28 dollar groupon for their 60 minutes swedish massage worth $120 each for both me and my missus. What a great deal! A hour long potentially very good massage at a knock-off price. I love Groupon.

The location of the spa is in Chinatown, it is not exactly easy to find but thanks to google map, we are able to located the place and reach the spa on time.

Heart Spring Spa review (Singapore,Hougang)

A little bit of history on how I discovered Heart Spring Spa (Singapore). I had moved to the North East early this year and I discovered this little gem with a stoke of luck. I wasn't into massage in Singapore at that point as I couldn't find adequate information about very good massage online and have imagined most massage to be expensive, pushy and sleazy. However, I was having all these frequent neck sprain and aching shoulders (oh my.. getting old here!) and some days were just unbearable especially after a long day at work. I was going through one of those aching day and I decided to scout some 10 minutes massage for $10 fast shoulder massage to relived my pain and I came across Heart Spring Spa at Hougang mall and they like to say the rest is history. I have since went back more than a dozen times.

Who, What, Why? 3Ws of this blog

If you coincidently stumble upon this blog, I welcome you and I hope you will have the time to enjoy reading this blog.

I started this blog out of a pure inspiration when I was in the showers one day. A lot of wonderful things happen in a shower and for me one day, I had this brilliant idea of starting a blog on massage. Why a blog on massage you might ask?

A little background about myself, I'm a computer technician and I sit in front of a computer, 5 times a week, 8 hour a day during work. When I come back home, I usually relax in front of a computer too, it could be checking out facebook, twitter, playing games to relax or watching a video. All these times slouching in front of the computer contributes go my aching shoulders and stiff back. I had a few neck sprain too which might be caused by my work.
